Team Jacob

When I entered the midnight showing of NEW MOON, I was an Edward Fan, always had been...but NEW MOON transformed me - into a Jacob Fan. Blasphemy! How could I so carelessly switch sides so fast!?! Easy: Jacob is simply hotter, nicer, less awkward, and more alive than Edward. I never picked this fact up while reading the books, but after seeing the movie, I finally realized why the Team Jacob existed. I was pleasantly surprised with Taylor Lautner's performance and accomplished exactly what the NEW MOON novel wanted: you should want Jacob as much as Edward, if not more. The movie was faaaarrr better than Twilight, although I still say they need to tone down R.Pattz' makeup...its making him less attractive to me. Anywho I cannot wait for eclipse to come out - its supposed to be this summer!

Back in Black

I have posted about the brand ban.do's fabulous embellished headpieces and belts before...but now they have me drooling even more over their black label! Its their couture collection, so naturally I am even MORE in love with it! They have so many fabulous flowers, feathers and sequins, I could wear one each day of the week, to suit my chameleon style. It is definitely a ban-do!

PopArt

I am in love with this photoshoot from Glamour's November issue. The incorporation of Jeff Koons' sculptures with the electric colored clothing is genius. What is even more awesome is that these sculptures were featured at Versailles not to long ago :)

Dead Man's Bones

Ryan Gosling (do I hear a choir of girls sighing?) can do no wrong, so when he decided to take an adventure in indie rock music, I knew it would be as edgy as his movie roles and well executed. His music project, Dead Man's Bones, is an album with an antique piano feel, special spooky effects, all which accompany his mumbling yet recognizable voice and a whole children's choir. It is the 2009 version of a "Monster Mash" CD and I say that as a compliment. It is perfect music for Halloween, not only because of the titles like, "My Body's a Zombie For You," and "Werewolf Heart" but the just the overall ambiance the music creates. Buy it now and you will be enjoying it still well after Halloween.
.
Below is a video for their song "In The Room Where You Sleep."I am loving all the kid's costumes!

Let the Wild RUMPUS Start!

I highly recommend seeing Where The Wild Things Are, its not a kid's movie, but a movie about a kid. It exceeded my already high expectations and surprised me with the endearing story - I laughed and got teary eyed. If you wish to rekindle your childhood notions of happiness, loneliness, love, and using your imagination then please see it - it is a truly beautiful film.
**also get the soundtrack by Karen O - complements the movie sooo well!

Spider(wo)man

Can fashion inspire food?

When I was asked to make a Halloween cake, I was bored with the idea of the typical pumpkin, orange and black theme. Instead that inspired me was the Rodarte FW08 collection. Rodarte always impresses me with their ethereal, lookslikeafairymadeit clothes. This collection in particular looks like a bunch of fashionable spiders all got together and spun these red and black dresses and tights.

To make the spiderwebs, I melted chocolate, put it in a Ziploc back, snipped off the end and made spiderwebs onto wax paper. Before they dried, I sprinkled big clear crystals on them.

Fright Fest

I have expressed my love for Amy Atlas Events before and how much I would kill for an internship there! She is the queen of all dessert tables and I found this Halloween table of hers looking as delicious as ever!
This really makes me want to have a Halloween party...
